About the iGAThe Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) is the government entity responsible for spearheading digital transformation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Its roles include developing and implementing digital strategies for government services, and recommending relevant legislation, policies, and standards. The iGA works closely with other government agencies to enhance services and national systems. It also focuses on advancing digital infrastructure, leading Bahrain's transition to cloud computing, managing government network operations, and overseeing IT governance across the public sector.
The iGA also oversees Bahrain’s national statistics strategy, acting as the central authority for managing population registry data, addresses, identity services, and birth & death registrations, and providing official statistics and surveys for various sectors in the Kingdom.
The iGA operates three business lines: digital transformation, operations & governance, and statistics & population registry. Through these lines, it seeks to make the Kingdom of Bahrain one of the leading countries in providing integrated and smart government services that are easily and securely available to all. To achieve this objective, it has set an ambitious goal to build an efficient eGovernment that enhances quality of life, attracts investment, and supports comprehensive and sustainable development.
