iGA Chief Executive Participates in 26th GCC eGovernment Executive Committee meeting.

Representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) participated in the 26th GCC eGovernment Executive Committee meeting in Doha. In attendance were iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed and various heads of GCC eGovernments and directors from respective GCC countries.

The committee reviewed the Secretariat's report, assessed progress with regards to eGovernment strategy guide initiatives, and examined the achievements of their task forces, in particular, the achievements related to the digital transformation strategy for the joint GCC market.

The Executive Committee discussed the joint GCC eServices priority list, software and hardware procurement recommendations, and approval of Bahrain's guidelines for the ethical use of AI in the GCC.

The Committee discussed a range of topics, including the outcomes of the eGovernment Priorities workshop, the enhanced GCC e-portal launch and data update, and Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 2023 eGovernment Award.

The committee concluded its meeting by discussing new agenda items, including Saudi Arabia's presentation on the Internet Governance Forum 2024 (IGF).
