iGA CE and SESRIC Director General Discuss Statistics Collaboration

Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Al Qaed met with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) Director General, H.E Ms. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk to discuss cooperation and mutual interests in the statistics sector during the 49th Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS) Board of Trustees meeting hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al Qaed welcomed Ms. Selçuk, commending her insights and valuable contributions to the statistics industry. He underscored the importance of utilizing the latest technologies and tools to foster international collaboration that addresses challenges and enhances opportunities.

He also discussed the cooperation with the SESRIC Director General, emphasizing statistical capacity building and knowledge exchange. He highlighted Bahrain's track record and the iGA's efforts to develop the skills of statistics professionals, expressing interest in sharing successful experiences and benefiting from the center's initiatives with member states. He stressed the importance of technical support in developing essential systems and tools, noting that these efforts enhance data exchange and effective management for all stakeholders.

Al Qaed thanked Ms. Zehra for her efforts, emphasizing the vital role of such meetings in achieving positive outcomes that align with collective aspirations and enhance statistical work across Arab countries.
