Bahrain participates in the 8th Arab Conference for Directors of Nationality and Civil Affairs Departments in Tunisia

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the 8th Arab Conference for Directors of Nationality and Civil Affairs Departments, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC) in Tunisia.

iGA Director of Identity and Population Registry, Shaikh Sabah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led the Bahraini delegation to the conference in presence of participants from delegations representing civil affairs departments from various Arab countries, as well as the Arab League and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS).

On this occasion, shaikh Sabah highlighted that Bahrain’s participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering collaboration and coordination among fellow Arab nations in civil affairs. He stressed on the importance of sharing experiences to enhance services and improve the performance of civil affairs departments, ultimately advancing their operations and meeting the aspirations of the region.

The event showcased Bahrain’s successful experience in managing civil affairs, and its continued focus on developing its services through advanced technology, including systems that combat document forgery, taking into consideration the significance and importance of accurate and secure civil records documents. Shaikh Sabah also shed light on the importance of the conference's recommendations.

The conference discussed digital transformation of services, emphasizing the benefits of offering eServices to accelerate processes. It called for the adoption of modern technologies and advanced systems to secure nationality and civil affairs documents. The conference further urged unification of Arab security systems and models and promoted the exchange of visits among member states to share expertise.
