The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) participated in the Arab International Cybersecurity Summit, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Arab International Cybersecurity Summit (AICS) took place from December 6th to 8th 2022 at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir.
Hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre, AICS was the largest convention in the region for government regulators, industry professionals, and solution providers to discuss and devise strategies to secure their cyber and IT infrastructure. The summit offered a global overview of any organization’s cybersecurity and information security hierarchy, with the central theme of Empowering Global Cooperation in Cybersecurity.
The event brought together senior international cybersecurity decision makers, thought leaders, influencers, and solution providers from across the globe to communicate, share ideas, and identify solutions for creating and maintaining cybersecurity.
During AICS exhibition, the iGA showcased key ICT initiatives and projects aimed at streamlining the digital ICT infrastructure and government services that empower the Kingdom’s business environment and digital society.
The iGA team showcased the following ICT projects and initiatives:
Digital Transformation
The National Portal services and smart device applications to serve individuals and commercial establishments, and learn about the Authority's future plans for digital transformation which are in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, and its role in achieving the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The New Self-Service Platform
The new Self-service kiosks with new features and services that allow individuals to manage their eKey account, update the ID card chip via the integrated ID card reader, and register in the National Notifications system.
National Statistics
Latest figures about national accounts, consumer price index, foreign trade, confidence indicators in the business environment, tourism and tourism surveys, foreign investment statistics, population, labor force, births and deaths, marriage and divorce, health, area, waste, air quality, and weather conditions.
Benayat
The Benayat Building Permit Portal which is the Kingdom of Bahrain’s official system used to issue building permits for all types of building projects.
