Abdulla HabibDirector, Government Systems Development Directorate
Mr. Habib has been serving Bahrain’s ICT sector for over 15 years, working for both the public and private sectors, during which he has been exposed to different roles and responsibilities advancing his capabilities and adding value to the organization.
Abdulla, is currently the director of Government Systems Development, where he is responsible for a well-established team of professionals dedicated towards managing and overlooking various system development projects for governmental entities, strategic national-level system development projects and initiatives, and defining all relevant national-level standards, frameworks, procedures, and policies. He is also a founding board member of Technology and Business Society.
During his previous roles he held the responsibilities of suggesting and providing consultancy on best practices for Standardization on the ICT arena to the governmental ICT Governance Committee for approval and endorsement, driving and managing national-level initiatives such as maintaining the National Enterprise Architecture Framework, the Enterprise Architecture Maturity Progra, the IT Strategic Planning development and deployment across governmental entities, and the establishment of the ICT Transformation Program for governmental entities. He has served as the board secretary for the Governmental ICT Governance Committee, as well as being a member in the National ICT cutting cost committee, a member of the National Elections Executive Committee, and the Head of the National Elections Information Technology Committee.
Prior to joining the Information & eGovernment Authority in 2011, he worked at Seera Investment Bank as an Assistant Manager looking after the ICT Department. Academically, Abdulla holds a Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain, and a Masters' in Business Administration in Management, in addition to various numbers of professional certificates across different fields in ICT, Management and Leadership.
